In this 2025 installation, a metal trellis is draped with crocheted linear and round hyperbolic planes, visited by pollinators crocheted from cotton thread. The artist created these different types of hyperbolic planes as an exploration of what they could become.

These geometric surfaces contain saddle points that create a negative curvature in which the plane curves away from itself as the piece grows. Hyperbolic planes exist in nature as brain coral, celosia, and sea kelp. Perhaps a different type of vine and flower, like the artist has brought to life here, could be the next hyperbolic plane discovery.
